Ribena, Dentists & Christmas

  • I’ve been away for a while and now I’m back, and Nan says was never quite there in the first case.
  • Christmas dinner, a packet of cheese and onion crisps, a Twix and a bottle of Ribena. Quite lucky really as I have that every day.
  • For many years my mam said that my name was Noel, so at this time of year I thought all the Christmas cards were really my birthday cards
  • Nan got me a tablet for Christmas, which is quite lucky really as I had a headache and needed a Paracetamol
  • I hate going to the dentists but I was in so much pain with a bad tooth I thought I best just go and grit my teeth and get it pulled out
  • In the News – January 2025
  • I see that Russia, Iran, China and North Korea have just signed a partnership of mutual interest and now are reviewing an application from Donald Trump to join them.
  • Iceland has joined Spain, Ireland, Slovenia and the Netherlands in saying it will boycott the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest because of Israel and despite all of this, the UK will still come near last (again)
  • At this time of the year I go to work in the dark and come home in the dark. I wouldn’t mind, but I work from home
  • Given how many times the Hood has been shot at, crashed and blown up in the classic Thunderbirds, it makes me wonder if he was the inspiration for the indestructible Captain Scarlet
  • There’s one good thing to come out from the Budget today. The end of relentless pundit speculation on what will or will not happen
  • In the News – February 2025
  • I see that Thames Water has secured a £3bn lifeline after court ruling. Who else is anticipating a pay rise or bonus for their senior managers?
  • I see that there’s a slight chance Asteroid 2024 YR4 could hit Moon in 2032. The bad news is that the Moon could then hit the earth in 2033
  • The BBC have said that “Doctor Who has not been shelved” – I can believe that along with a new series of ‘Top Gear’
  • US-Russia peace talks to end Ukraine war. Apparently, Russia can have that big piece of Ukraine they invaded
  • I see the Americans have their first words ready for when they land on Mars. “That’s one goose-step for a man, one goose-step for humanity”
  • In the news – February 2025
  • “The name’s Bond. James ‘subscribe to Amazon for the latest streaming hits’ Bond” – Yeah, that’s going to work
  • Good news: There will be a new James Bond film. Bad news: It will be produced by those who did The Rings of Power
  • Sorry I’m a bit late but last week my 5 things were; I made sure I didn’t do a few things: no dismantling governments, no torching international alliances, no silencing free speech, and definitely no Nazi salutes. I just tried to be a decent person and get along with everyone
  • In the News – March 2025
  • The Pope was said to be getting better after a breathing crisis the Vatican said, then he saw the news about Zelensky and Trump and relapsed into a coma
  • All the leaders of Europe have now nominated Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for a Nobel Peace prize, for standing his ground against a hostile dictator in the Oval Office
